A Story in the Middle of the River

Taken by me :p

It is a picture taken in the middle of Shuanghsi River in northern Taiwan in summer. The girls in the picture are rowing the canoe down the river toward the beach. It’s a beautiful and wonderful day. The river is emerald green with happy fishes and colorful water plants. The surface of river is blinking with the sun light. The sands at the riverbank are golden, which is rare in Taiwan. Also, the mountains behind are verdant with joyful birds singing in them.

Suddenly, a funny tragedy takes place! The canoe is graveled in the middle of the river as a result of the dry season! How could they do? The little canoe gets stuck alone in the river. No one is beside. Only three little girls sit in the canoe. They feel helpless and panic, but however, they still have to escape out of the awkward situation by themselves. Or they could not go home and maybe die in the canoe! Finally they decide that the one who sits at the front of the canoe has to go down the canoe and pushes the canoe out of the predicament. And, the poor one becomes the photographer of this picture to record this navel and interesting experience.

In spite of the embarrassing event, the summer still remains a gorgeous and beautiful memory to these little girls. They might remember this special and adventurous summer forever!!
